The Solomon Islands are situated in the South Pacific between Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu. The six major islands and approximately 990 islets and atolls that make up the Solomons boast the second highest diversity of coral in the world, with over 485 corals and 1000 species of fish having been identified.

Using a liveaboard, the Solomons Master, as our ‘base camp’, we kayak, snorkel and dive on a voyage between Honiara and Munda, an expansive area renowned for beautiful tropical islands, coral reefs and WWII wrecks. Kayaking allows us to glide over shallow reefs, pull up to isolated beaches and trek though verdant forest to secret waterfalls; a perfect way to explore this remote archipelago. The diving and snorkelling is exceptional and we’ll spend as much time in the water as paddling on it!

On land, we visit villages for a taste of island life, where traditional ways and etiquette, referred to as ‘Kastom’ in pijin, are passed down from generation to generation. We often meet villagers while paddling and the interaction between sea kayakers and locals in their dugouts is very special, giving a cultural depth not always experienced when travelling.

With remote locations largely inaccessible by land, a live aboard allows for far-reaching exploration, creating an unforgettable sense of discovery and adventure. After each day’s explorations we return to the liveaboard for delicious meals, very comfortable cabins and relaxation.
