100 years SEA CLOUD & SEA CLOUD II: The grand birthday cruise.
For six days the legendary SEA CLOUD will sail alongside the SEA CLOUD II tall ship sailing cannot be more romantic than this. Besides a special birthday dinner on each yacht, both cruises include an exclusive evening event with concert in a private palazzo in Palermo on the island of Sicily. Guests of SEA CLOUD II will also enjoy exquisite Mallorcan wine and food during an evening excursion to the Mallorcan countryside.

Bathed in gold: the Cappella Palatina and its mosaics
At the highest point of the medieval town centre in Palermo lies a castle whose roots can be traced back to the Normans. From the outside this building seems imposing and spellbinding, but its interior charm is truly breathtaking especially the Cappella Palatina and its design with Arab, Byzantine and Norman influences. Stained glass and gold mosaics on the walls, a wooden ceiling richly adorned with Arab ornaments, and an artistic marble floor are what give this former Palazzo Reale Chapel Royal its true fairy-tale atmosphere.

The call of the country: an evening of Mallorcan delights
In the evening we leave the quaint, winding streets of Palmas old town and head out into the countryside. Mallorcas sedate rural areas welcome visitors with a vast hilly landscape, dense forests, small villages and delicious local specialities. At a typical finca you will enjoy exquisite Mallorcan wine and food.

A lecturer accompanies the trip
The Sea Cloud iis itinerary features a vast array of ports. Our on-board lecturer will give guests an entertaining and exciting background knowledge about our various destinations.

Day 1 - Valletta (Malta)
Guests arrive individually in Malta. Embarkation on the Sea Cloud II. This strategically important location has always attracted foreign conquerors. More than 7,000 years ago, a civilisation existed here, leaving behind enormous temple complexes. Just like proud Valletta, these are now UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Jean Parisot de la Valette, Grand Master of the Order of St John, founded a modern fortified city on a rock in 1566, between the two splendid natural ports of Marsamxett and Grand Harbour. Long rows of facades made from golden-yellow blocks of chalk stretch along the straight streets. Splendid Renaissance and Baroque buildings are evidence of riches and power, such as the Palace of the Grand Master and the impressive St John's Co-Cathedral.
Day 2 - Sailing together with SEA CLOUD & Giardini Naxos (Taormina)/Sicily (Italy)
Taormina is perched on a rock with a majestic view over the sea. In the 19th century, this small town had already developed into a dream destination for well-heeled travellers and artists. The town's fascination lies in its elegance, the many ancient buildings, the stunningly beautiful coastline, the mild climate, and the view over the silhouette of Etna. Europe's largest volcano is over 3,000 metres (9,843 foot) high, has four summit craters and around 400 subsidiary craters, and is covered with snow almost all year round. In ancient times it was considered the seat of the gods, but nowadays large sections of it are a nature reserve.
Day 3 - Giardini Naxos (Taormina)/Sicily (Italy)
Optional Excursion to Mount Etna via cable car and 4x4 to 2,900 m. Sail alongside the Sea Cloud in the afternoon.
Day 4 - Palermo/Sicily (Italy)
The character of Palermo, Sicily's vibrant capital, was mainly forged by the Arabs, Swabian dynasty and Normans. Noble palaces line the magnificent streets, cheerful-looking Art Nouveau houses stand next to Baroque buildings and a little further on you are faced with pure Gothic facades. The medieval quarter towers above the huge Palazzo Reale with its "Capella Palatina", a masterpiece in the Arab-Byzantine-Norman style. The small mountain town of Monreale gives you a breathtaking view over the town and the bay, as well as the 12th century cathedral whose interior combines Romanesque, Byzantine and Arab art with rich gold mosaics. Optional City tour including cathedral and Cappella Palatina. Special event: exclusive evening in a private palazzo including concert.
Day 5 - Sailing together with SEA CLOUD
At sea
Day 6 - Cagliari/Sardinia (Italy)
Cagliari is a port and university town and, with one of the most modern opera houses in the Mediterranean, is also a renowned cultural city. Behind the Via Roma, a boulevard with shady arcades and classical facades, lies the dock area whose narrow lanes bustle with life. The old town is called Castello and extends picturesquely up the hill. The immense Bastione San Remy towers over the town. Not far from the centre is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean and inland you will find glittering cultural treasures, like the ancient town of Nora dating from the 9th century BC. Optional City tour of Cagliari and trip to a vineyard. Sea Cloud ii birthday dinner.

Day 8 - Palma de Mallorca (Spain)
Majorca's beautiful capital is an elegant city and its picturesque old town and architectural mix of Arab, Catalan and Art Nouveau elements are part of its success story. In the centre you will be lured by shops behind splendid facades, and cafes and bars set on beautiful squares invite you to stay a while. Not far from the sophisticated marina you will find the dignified cathedral, affectionately known as "La Seu" for short. With pure Gothic beginnings, none other than Antonio Gaudi created part of its interior at the start of the 20th century. Optional City walking tour of Palma. Special event: evening excursion to the countryside with local specialities.
Day 9 - Ibiza City/Ibiza (Spain)
Ibiza's motto is "live and let live". Artists, hedonists and the international jet set discovered the beauty of this Balearic island many years ago. The little island's character has a Moorish influence, which has given it the pseudonym of "the white island". The tidy old quarter in Ibiza Town, surrounded by huge fortified walls, has been carefully restored and, like the entire island, is under the protection of UNESCO. In contrast, the spectacular, sometimes wildly rugged island coastline with its innumerable bays and beaches shows the traditional side of Ibiza. The primordial backdrop is one of gentle hills cris-crossed with a scattering of fincas. Optional Island tour and trip to Ibiza Town.
Day 10 - At Sea
Day 11 - Malaga (Spain)
Malaga has spruced itself up. In 2003, the Museo Picasso opened in a 16th century Renaissance palace and is dedicated to the artist's extensive life's work. This historic old city invites you to take a stroll and its buildings gleam like new. And above everything towers the Alcazaba, a mighty walled fortress. The port was completely redesigned when the city was opened to the sea and you can now take a lovely stroll along the promenade. In Malaga's hinterland you can see the most beautiful aspects of traditional Andalusia. From a distance the typical Andalusian villages look like white dabs of paint shining out from the brown of the barren mountain landscape. Disembarkation. Guests return home individually.
