Sailing
Nights at Anchor in beautiful bays and coves
Amalfi
Naples
There are no future departures for this trip at this stage.
After the check-in on board in Pozzuoli (18.00 pm), we will sail to Corricella bay in Procida. The bay is famous for its village with the houses built on top of each other and side by side forming a block of different colours. The village is known to be a cheerful place and offers a breath-taking view. No cars are allowed and only by using stairways and snaking passages is it possible to enjoy an aperitif, dinner ashore or walk to the main village to Terra Murata or Casale Vascello. Night at anchor in the bay.
After a dip in the sea and a typical Procidanian breakfast (lingue al limone) head to Ischia, the largest island in the bay of Naples and a popular coastal destination, passing close to Vivara, which is connected to Procida by a bridge. This island is home to a nature reserve with rare plants, rabbits and birds. After sailing for 8nm we will arrive in Sant’Angelo bay and Maronti beach. Around 16:00, the catamaran will move to a bay close to Ischia Ponte. Ischia Ponte is famous for its medieval castle that overlooks the bay below (Castello Aragonese). A dinner on board under the castle and a walk among the shops in Ischia Ponte will be an unforgettable experience.
In the morning sail from Ischia to Capri. Get to know the island’s Faraglioni rocks, visit the Blue Grotto and watch the amazing colour of the water as the sunlight hits the caves. Tour of the island, passing close to the famous Faro and stop to enjoy the ambience at Marina Piccola. By landing on the most famous concrete pier in the world, do not forget to visit Capri village and its narrow streets full of shops, La Piazzetta, Via Tragara, Via Camerelle etc. Every day, famous people from all over the world land on this pier from their maxi yachts.
Passing through the Faraglioni Rocks, we will head towards the Amalfi Coast where high mountains overlook the bays of Nerano, Positano and Amalfi. After a sail, you will swim in the deep water of Li Galli. Li Galli islands, the three rocky and lonely islands (Gallo Lungo, Castelluccio and Rotonda) located a few miles from the beach of Positano, mirror themselves in the limpid sea facing the pearl of the Amalfi coast. According to old legends, they were inhabited by the sirens who seduced sailors with their melodious voice: they lost control of their ships that inevitably crashed on the rocks of the islands. Periodically visited by Tiberius, protected by the Angevins with the Tower for dissuading raiders to take refuge on it, the last inhabitants of these isles having their own natural charm, and include choreographer Leonide Massine (who built here a wonderful villa, on the ruins of an ancient Roman villa, subsequently decorated by the architect Le Corbusier) and the ballet dancer Rudolph Nureyev. Short sail to Positano. Stop in Positano where the undisputed beauty of the landscape has contributed to make Positano and the Amalfi Coast famous worldwide. Don’t forget to buy typical " Positano fashion” fresh linen dresses, leather sandals, colourful ceramics and typical Limoncello.
After breakfast you’ll sail toward Amalfi, passing close to Praiano and Cona dei Marini. Short stop visiting the amazing Furore Fijord, a deep rift into the rock at the mouth of a steep valley that falls into the sea, which retains a small beach with a tiny and picturesque fishing village. Here among the picturesque "monazzeni" began the stormy relationship between Roberto Rossellini and "Nannarella" during the filming of "L'Amore". The houses that are today inhabited have been transformed into an interesting Ecomuseo. The fjord is overridden by a bridge suspended at 30 meters high, along which runs the main coast road. Amalfi (UNESCO World Heritage Site), one of the four Italian republics, is full of history, with amazing, rich ancient buildings and museums. The Cathedral of St. Andrew in Piazza Duomo, the Basilica del Crocifisso, the ancient arsenal of the Maritime Republic and the paper museum are just some of the wonders of Amalfi.
In the morning we suggest taking a bus from Amalfi to Ravello. Perched on a rocky outcrop, at 365 meters high, Ravello is set right in the middle of the Amalfi coast, overlooking the whole Gulf of Salerno. It is one of the most popular destinations of the Divine coast, due to the irresistible fascination and fame that made it famous, a perfect combination of art and music deserve the acknowledgement as a cultural heritage of UNESCO and the appellant of ‘City of Music’. Villa Ruffolo, Villa Cimbrone, Villa Rondinaia and the famous Oscar Niemeyer Auditorium will ravish you. In the early afternoon the catamaran will head to Sorrento, leaving the Amalfi coast and entering the Sorrento coast. 18nm from Amalfi to Sorrento where you can admire fantastic landscapes and swim in the beautiful bay (Nerano bay or Marina di Puolo). Night in Sorrento Bay and a visit to the village by night
In the morning, swim the Sorrento Bay or walk through the town. In the early afternoon, sail back towards our base in Pozzuoli passing along the Naples coast and admiring the city of Naples by the sea with his Castel dell’Ovo, the Posillipo Hill and the Nisida Island. Night in Pozzuoli Marina.
