There’s one awe-inspiring sight after another on this voyage from Canada up the Pacific Coast to Alaska. Leaving the coastal, cosmopolitan city of Vancouver, we head north along the Seymour Narrows, where you can get your first taste of the awe-inspiring wilderness to come. Our first stop is Ketchikan, where the houses are built on stilts over the water and there’s a fine collection of 19th-century totem poles to see. Enjoy epic wildlife watching in Juneau and discover Gold Rush history in Skagway before we come to Sitka, Alaska’s original capital with a fascinating Russian history. Our final highlight is cruising past the Hubbard Glacier, the longest tidewater glacier in North America – and watch for huge chunks of ice calving into the sea. Finally, we arrive at Seward, dramatically set between snow-capped mountains and fjords.
- Cruise from Vancouver through dramatic coastal wilderness, including the narrow tidal passage of Seymour Narrows
- Explore classic Alaskan ports such as Juneau, Skagway and Sitka, rich in wildlife, Indigenous culture and Gold Rush history
