There’s one awe-inspiring sight after another on this voyage from Canada up the Pacific Coast to Alaska. Leaving the coastal, cosmopolitan city of Vancouver, we head north along the Seymour Narrows, where you can get your first taste of the awe-inspiring wilderness to come. Our first stop is Ketchikan, where the houses are built on stilts over the water and there’s a fine collection of 19th-century totem poles to see. Enjoy epic wildlife watching in Juneau and discover Gold Rush history in Skagway before we come to Sitka, Alaska’s original capital with a fascinating Russian history. Our final highlight is cruising past the Hubbard Glacier, the longest tidewater glacier in North America – and watch for huge chunks of ice calving into the sea. Finally, we arrive at Seward, dramatically set between snow-capped mountains and fjords.

This five-kilometer (three-mile) waterway between British Columbia and Vancouver Island is a small section of the bigger Discovery Passage strait. Named after the Royal Navy officer George Seymour, the strait is known for its narrowness and intense tidal currents.

Day 3 Ketchikan, United States Of America

Paddle a kayak on sheltered waters, take a floatplane to a remote mountain lake or try your hand at sportfishing in Ketchikan, salmon capital of the world and a paradise for fishermen and nature-lovers alike. A quiet city with rich Native American heritage, it hosts the world's largest collection of authentic totem poles at Totem Bight as well as a rustic boardwalk, quaint restaurants perched on stilts above the water, and scores of fascinating shops and spectacular views from every vantage point.

Day 4 Juneau (Alaska), United States Of America

This Gold Rush city is not only the capital of Alaska, but an epicenter of Alaskan history, culture, music, and food. Here, enjoy endless attractions, activities, and unimaginable glaciers, only accessible by air or sea.

Day 5 Skagway (Alaska), United States Of America

In its heyday, this frontier town was the largest in Alaska – its population went from 2 to 10,000 in a single year during the height of the gold boom.

Day 6 Sitka (Alaska), United States Of America

Arrive at Russia's former New World capital. This historic island chain features Sitka Historic National Park, green-tufted landscapes, and St. Michael's Cathedral, built in the 1800's. This is an unusual stop for travelers, so enjoy a rare and unforgettable experience.

Day 7 Cruising Hubbard Glacier, Alaska, United States Of America
