Sundarbans (ABN Rajmahal) itinerary:

show reverse itinerary
DAY 1 Kolkata
Board the ship around 8.30 am. Cruise down the tidal river, passing Diamond Harbour and Kedgeree to the fishing port of Namkhana, where we turn out of the main stream and leave the Ganges waters behind.
DAY 2 Sundarbans
We enter the maze of mangrove-covered islands which make up the Sundarbans – we may well see sails above the trees, since this is one of the last places on earth where sailing ships are used in day-to-day trade. We visit the crocodile rescue centre at Bhagabatpur. We continue to Jharkali to visit the tiger rescue centre before anchoring at Sajnakhali on the edge of the core area of the wildlife sanctuary.
DAY 3 Sundarbans
We cruise the channels between the mangrove islands, using local country boats. Even if tigers prove elusive, there are crocodiles, deer, monitor lizards and rich bird life. Later, we sail for an hour or so to Godkhali.
DAY 4 Kolkata
We disembark this morning to drive back approx. 5 hours to central Kolkata or airport.
Please Note:
While every effort will be made to maintain the itinerary, in view of fluctuating river conditions and navigational or mechanical difficulties, all schedules and itineraries are subject to change without notice.
