Galapagos 8 Day Cruise Itinerary B (Archipel II) itinerary:

show reverse itinerary
Day 1 Arrival at Seymour Airport (GPS) & North Seymour
Arrival at Seymour Ecological Airport and transfer in. You will have to pay your Galapagos National Park entrance fee and your luggage will be inspected. North Seymour is another highlight of your cruise. In the archipelago’s most extensive seabird breeding colony you can walk a very short distance from frigatebirds and blue-footed boobies.
Day 2 Bartolomé & Espumilla Beach, Buccaneer Cove
This tiny volcano islet is just recently born out of fire. Enter its wild romantic setting of spatter cones and craters, see the most famous panorama of the Galapagos. James Bay (Santiago) was where Charles Darwin spent most of his time on the Galapagos Islands. Espumilla Beach has been revived as an important breeding site for turtles. At nearby Buccaneer Cove there is a great snorkelling opportunity in crystal-clear waters.
Day 3 Puerto Egas (Santiago) & Rabida
Puerto Egas is a historical and favourite site on Santiago for wildlife lovers. The highlight is the outstanding fur seal grottos at the beautiful sculptured coastline. Upon landing on this remarkable red beach, a large bachelor colony of Galapagos sea lions will usually welcome you.
Day 4 Charles Darwin Research Station & Highlands (Santa Cruz)
The most memorable part of the Charles Darwin Research Station will probably be the successful breeding centre and its celebrity ‘Lonesome George’. Santa Cruz offers excellent opportunities for viewing wild Galapagos giant tortoises, roaming through pastures in the agricultural zone and in the transition zone of adjacent El Chato Tortoise Reserve.
Day 5 Cormorant Point (Floreana) & Baroness Lookout & Post Office Bay
Please don’t expect flightless cormorants at Cormorant Point (they live exclusively in West Galapagos). Instead, you may have the only opportunity in the East to spot Galapagos penguins from the dinghy, or a flamingo lagoon against the pockmarked backdrop of extinct tuff cones and scented palo santo bushes. Baroness Viewpoint is a fantastic place to absorb the environment of the Galapagos. Once inhabited by an indulgent baroness and her three lovers, the history of this island is intriguing.
Day 6 Gardner Bay (Española & Suarez Point (Española)
Being one of the crown jewels of the Galapagos, Española gives you the exclusive opportunity to become an eyewitness of evolution. Española’s west tip is a true birdwatcher’s and photographer’s dream. Feel as though you’re within an exciting nature documentary, and hike a short distance from the most colourful marine iguanas.
Day 7 Pitt Point (San Cristóbal) & Witch Hill (San Cristóbal)
Two wind sculptured tuff cones at Pitt Point constitute the extreme eastern end of the Galapagos and were the first sight of land of HMS Beagle with Darwin aboard. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon in the lovely setting of Witch Hill’s crescent-shaped natural beach of soft powdery sand.
Day 8 Lobos Islet (San Cristóbal) & Transfer out to San Cristóbal Airport (SCY)
The Asylum of Peace hike goes past a mesmerising cave and visits a fascinating freshwater spring. La Loberia beach is an ideal spot to enjoy the ocean, as well as the cute sea lions that reside there. Assisted by the naturalist guide and some crew members the dinghy will accompany you to the check-in counters in the departure hall. You will return home with stunning pictures and unforgettable lifelong memories!
