Day 1: Reykjavik (Iceland) - Constable Point (Greenland)

Enjoy your private flight to Constable Point where you will board your vessel.

Day 2: Nordvestfjord

We will explore the longest and deepest fjord, which overlooks Charcot Land and is surrounded by mountains that reach over 2000 metres high. At its end, three glaciers rush down to the foot of a granite castle, Ingmikorlitak. Giant icebergs parade there in tabular shapes, several hundred metres long, bristling with seracs, arches, domes, donjons... Enjoy walking tours on the peninsula as well as Zodiac adventures on the water.

Day 3: Flyvefjord

Winds bring icebergs to ground for about 40 kilometres in this iceberg-cluttered fjord, which is overhung by alpine peaks over 2000 metres high. It is the largest field of icebergs in the Scoresby Sound, which truly resembles another planet. We will go on Zodiac and walking excursions, searching for seals and muskoxen. While bears and narwhals also inhabit this region, they are elusive creatures and can be challenging to observe.

Day 4: Bjørneøer and Øfjord

The bear islands are a wild archipelago of about 15 islands once favoured by the Inuit for hunting bears, seals, and narwhals, and there are numerous historical sites that remain. The steep landscapes host seals and muskoxen near the iceberg barrier of Cape South. There, you can see the Grundtvigskirken pinnacle, which rises to nearly 2000 metres in a vertical cliff over Øfjord. This fjord, which is 95 kilometres long, certainly offers one of the most beautiful navigations as 25 glacial valleys and eight alpine glaciers flow into it.

Day 5: Røde Ø

A concentration of icebergs and favourable sites for wildlife observation feature here near the glaciers that flow from the central ice cap of Greenland. Excursion to this island of very typical reddish conglomerates and witness a huge rocky bastion, which is cut by impressive rock gorges at Red Cape.

Day 6: Gåsefjord

This fjord offers wide tundras which are home to arctic hares, birds and muskoxen. Its deep waters make it a privileged hunting site for narwhals for the Inuit. Large glacier fronts escape into the sea between peaks jagged by frost in superb landscapes. The Viking fjord is known for its basalt organs. Further on, the coast of Volquart Boons is cut into basalt cliffs and glaciers, some of which can be approached. In summer, bird colonies inhabit the scree slopes.

Day 7: Ittoqqortoormiit

This village was established in 1925 due to the abundance of walruses, seals, narwhals and bears at the entrance of Scoresby Sound. About 450 people, including hunters and mushers, still live here. There are also monuments to Charcot and Mikkelsen and a church and museum to explore. There is also the possibility of helicopter excursions to the splendid Liverpool Alps or to the ice cap region of Gåsefjord.

Day 8: Constable Point - Reykjavik

Disembark and return to Reykjavik

This A1 ice-class polar yacht was built in 1994 to perform oceanographic research in Greenland. With the goal of reducing its impact on the environment, Grands Espaces founder Christian Kempf has partnered with naval architect Marco Coppola to completely renovate the vessel for the 2021 sailing season. At 46.5 meters long and 10.5 meters wide, the Explorer is designed for easy navigation through high seas and ice. The spacious, refurbished interiors offer top-notch amenities—making for a comfortable and refined cruising experience. A spacious panoramic lounge, a gym room, sauna, and two Jacuzzis are all available for you to relax in after your exciting small-boat outings. Or you can choose to spend some time on the bridge where a second panoramic lounge opens out to an outdoor lounge-bar area.
